Together with Studio Arte, an architecture studio based in the Algarve, we’re giving Casa da Torre in Silves a new life. Not a standard renovation, but a refined blend of old and new, with attention to atmosphere, comfort, and character.

At the rear, a modern extension with a large glass façade is taking shape. Indoors and outdoors will soon flow seamlessly into each other, perfect for opening the doors in the morning and easing into the day.

The inner courtyard is being transformed into a calm, private space to unwind. Against the old watchtower, a raised plunge pool adds a playful step into the water, a place to lounge, relax, and enjoy outdoor living.

A striking new element floats above: a ‘hanging box’ on the first floor. Light-filled and open, it’s perfect for reading, working, or simply drifting away, with views of the courtyard and the historic tower of Silves.

The rooftop terrace is also being reimagined. A slim metal staircase will connect the rooftop to the terrace facing the street, adding another special spot to sit, observe, and take it all in.

In this transformation, everything comes together: the charm of the past, the stillness of the present, and the uniqueness of a house as special as the place it belongs to.
